Westonbirt School Lacrosse Tour - Wednesday
31st March
Day 12: The girls will have
a whole day free to explore the city of Boston. Match
7 -v- Gorton School in the afternoon. In the evening,
they will then be transferred to the local Crowne Plaza Hotel
for the last night of tour. Click
on Massachusetts on the map below to go to the hotel web site.
Had another great breakfast at Leslie's house and then left
for downtown Boston. First stop the Aquarium and IMax theatre.
Fab 3D Hubble documentary followed by 'fishy' visit which
was great. The penguins were so sweet and the sharks so fat!!
After lunch we went out to Groton School for our last game.
Unfortunately their fields were flooded and we couldn't work
our magic but were invited to join their practice indoors
and on half a soggy pitch. The Groton girls were friendly
and chatty even though we were only there for a few hours.
We watched the Groton boys play lacrosse - wow! A different
game altogether with seemingly no rules, but we did discover
that anything goes if the ball is on the ground and the only
physical restriction being no crashing in from behind! The
goalie resembled Ninjas with super speedy reactions.
We are now spending our last night of the tour at the hotel
above a bust main road. We have had a small 'closing ceremony'
with everyone and it was our chance to give our take on some
