Dear All,
We're well into our Tour Experience and all the girls are
already best buddies with their Bishop Ireton hosts. They
were taken to the school 'bookstore' yesterday by Bill Simmons
and allowed to choose a T-shirt each with the intention of
winding up Paul V1 team - their great rivals. Unfortunately,
they were not sufficiently intimidated and their Varsity team
beat us 6-11. We were expecting to play their JV but word
must have got out and they brought their reinforcements.
We had a very competitive game against BI and lost 7-11.
The girls are having to respond very quickly to the high standard
of play here - there are no 'weak' teams as these girls start
playing when they are stick height!! Player of the game v
Bishop Ireton was Tiva, who commanded the midfield and scored;
most improved player was Lucy, who responded to all that was
asked of her with great intelligence and effort. We haven't
done the votes for the game against Paul V1 as the girls have
gone to lessons with their hosts!
We had 75C for our first game on Sunday and thunderstorms
yesterday - it was a miracle we played at all. We spent the
day sightseeing in Washinton and have some fab pictures. We'll
get them on the website as soon as we can.
Today we are off to Baltimore to go shopping in a lacrosse
superstore and visit the lacrosse national museum before playing
our next game tomorrow.
All girls are great company and some of their host families
want to keep them! No chance, don't worry.
